Sometimes when I go outside, the air feels a little strange. It doesn’t always smell fresh, and sometimes my chest feels tight when I try to breathe deeply. My mom always tells me to cover my nose with my handkerchief when the air looks dusty. She says the tiny dirty things in the air which are called pollutants, come from cars, factories, and burning garbage, and they mix with the air even when we can’t see them.
Air pollution doesn’t just make the sky look dull; it also makes people feel discomfort. Sometimes my eyes start watering or my throat feels scratchy, and my mom says she feels the same when she goes to the market. Even birds, animals, and plants get affected. When the air is dirty, we can’t play outside for long without feeling tired or coughing, and that makes everyone a little sad.
But my mom also tells me that small actions can make a big difference. We can plant more trees, use cycles or walk when we can, and remind people not to burn waste. If we all help, even just a little, the air can become cleaner and fresher. Clean air helps all of us: me, my mom, and everyone around. So, let’s breathe better, play happily, and enjoy a bright blue sky again.
