In This World Where You Can Be Anything, Be Kind

Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” — Mark Twain

In a world full of differences, challenges, and hurried lives, kindness remains the most powerful choice we can make. Being kind costs nothing, yet it has the power to heal hearts, build connections, and spread hope. A small act of kindness, such as a smile, a kind word, or helping someone in need can change a person’s entire day. Kindness teaches us empathy, patience, and understanding, making our society more peaceful and compassionate. In a world where we have many options to define who we are, choosing kindness makes us truly human.

Kindness also has a quiet strength. It does not seek attention or applause, yet its impact lasts far longer than harsh words or anger ever could. When we choose kindness, we create a safe space for others to be seen, heard, and valued, even in moments of disagreement or pain. In times of struggle, kindness becomes a form of courage. It takes strength to remain gentle in a harsh world and to respond with care when it is easier to turn away.

Kindness reminds us that we are not alone, that our actions, no matter how small, matter deeply to someone else.

As kindness spreads from one person to another, it creates a chain of hope. One compassionate choice inspires another, slowly shaping a world that feels less divided and more connected. In choosing kindness, we choose humanity, and in doing so, we help build a future rooted in understanding, dignity, and care for one another.

Yet, the moment light becomes too direct or too absolute, the shadow begins to fade. This is the

A Clock Set by the Divine

If I were asked to explain deen in simple words, I would say this: for me, deen means living a disciplined life. Happiness drifted toward her slowly, almost cautiously. It
