Peace is something every human being deserves—whether a beggar on the street or the richest person alive. Peace can be anyone around whom you feel safe. For a child, it may be their mother. And if peace were to take the form of a person, this is how I imagine it. Amid the chaos of the world, there would stand a person with a calm, gentle smile. Their body would be wrapped in soft, flowing silk, and their presence would feel light and delicate, almost comforting by itself. They would have big, bright eyes—eyes that carry patience, understanding, and quiet strength. Just by looking at them, you would feel warmth, a sense of coziness spreading within you.
Even without coming close, comfort would seem to move toward you. Around this person, you would feel safe. You might not know anything about them, yet somehow you would know—know that they are kind, polite, and generous. Unlike most of us, this person would know how to control their anger. They would never hurt a soul. They would help wherever help is needed, and the word selfish would not exist in their dictionary. Sharing would come naturally to them. This person would not only be peaceful themselves, but they would make their surroundings peaceful too. It would feel as if soft, gentle music begins to play the moment they enter a room. Wherever they stand, that space would feel lighter, calmer, safer. All these qualities would reflect on their face, giving them an undefinable glow—one that draws people toward them, making others want to sit beside them, talk to them, and simply exist with them for a while.
This is what peace looks like to me.
But the question remains—can such a person really exist in this world?
Of course they can. In fact, you can be that person. You can become someone whose presence others seek, someone whose kindness makes the world feel a little softer. Try to be more polite. Learn to control your anger. Speak gently. Help those in need. Do not be selfish. Slowly, your face will begin to reflect that kindness. People will want to talk to you, sit with you, feel comforted by you.
And that is how peace can truly exist in this world.
