Between the Pages of a Book

“In a world that moves at the speed of a swipe, reading remains the quiet rebellion—an invitation to slow down, think deeply, and connect across time and space.”

Today, people all over the globe are on their phones, scrolling through social media, and have forgotten the magic that lies within a book. Between the pages of a book lies a completely different world, a portal to open our imagination and the revolution of thoughts. Those who read know how much power and magic a book holds, enough to change lives and mindsets.

Books are more than just ink and paper they are vessels of imagination and empathy taking us to the worlds we will never see, lives we will never live and minds we will never meet. Fiction books increase our emotional intelligence while non- fiction sharpens our mind. But we find traces of truth in both. Reading books is an exercise for our mind it trains our brain, enhances our vocabulary, improves focus and strengthens our memory .Study shows that children who read score significantly higher on tests. Reading reduces stress, improves sleep and decision making skills. Books also improve leadership qualities, reduce depression, promote creativity and innovation. You can also discover new skills.

A Yale study found out that readers lived up to two years longer than non –readers . This is because

reading a book has the strongest survival advantage as it demands sustained attention and immersive thinking.

A good book has the power to completely change our lives, our way of seeing things and, changes our mindsets, and allows you to live multiple lives from the point of views of multiple people, because reading helps you relate more to others it also improves social skills. George R.R  Martin writes in his book “A Dance with the Dragons”: “A Reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, a man who never reads lives only one.”

On the other hand, nothing can beat the smell of a book , the feeling after opening a book is like stepping through a secret door, the real world fades away and suddenly you are in the medieval kingdom , a parallel universe , the future or someone else’s mind .It’s a complete transportation. It is true that reading has a lot of benefits but sometimes you just read do have the feeling that you belong, you are not alone or get the thrill of adventure or time travel.

“Between the pages of a book we find our true selves”.

So next time you’re free, do yourself a favor and instead of picking up your phone, pick up a book and watch how your life changes.

THE FADING SHADOW

(The Elusive Dance of Light and Life) There is a profound contradiction at the heart of every shadow that has ever stretched across the earth. A shadow, by its very nature, proves the existence of light. It is the silhouette cast by illumination, and is the darkness that cannot exist without brilliance. Yet, the moment light becomes too direct or too absolute, the shadow begins to fade. This is the

A Clock Set by the Divine

If I were asked to explain deen in simple words, I would say this: for me, deen means living a disciplined life. A true momin is disciplined and intentional. He does not live his life aimlessly or in vain. When I

One Winter, One Book, A Thousand Lives

A cold winter evening. A warm, cozy corner. A bookshelf full of books that had already taken her on adventures far better than anything this world had to offer. She sat there knowing it was the perfect time to read and yet she had already flipped through these beloved pages countless times before. Then her eyes caught on something. A book. Unread. Happiness drifted toward her slowly, almost cautiously. It
